About the project
WorkAlive is an AI-powered voice companion that brings an existing work-as-meditation methodology into a digital experience. I joined the founder at an early stage to help translate a practice he had been guiding in person into an intuitive, independent experience. Over a two-week design sprint, we established a visual direction, shaped the core interactions, and developed a more cohesive application. The product is still in development.

The challenge
The founder of WorkAlive had already been practicing and developing a methodology that approaches work as a form of meditation, guiding people through it in person.
We wanted to bring that experience online, making it accessible beyond those sessions.
The challenge was translating a human-guided practice into an independent digital experience without losing what made it meaningful.
With a small team and a limited timeline, we approached it as a two-week design sprint, moving quickly between ideas, prototypes, and implementation.
Making it
I worked closely with the founder to shape the application, establish its visual direction, and make the experience easier to understand and navigate.
Rather than following a traditional design-to-development handoff, I worked directly in code with AI assistance, experimenting with interactions and refining the experience as we went.
Translating the methodology
WorkAlive guides users through five stages: Open, Seed, Grow, Harvest, and Close. Each represents a different moment in the practice, from setting an intention to reflecting on the work.
My focus was on making the journey intuitive while allowing the voice companion to remain at the center of the experience.
We explored how users start a session, understand their progress, and move between stages without unnecessary distractions.
Creating a visual identity
We wanted WorkAlive to feel calm, organic, and immersive rather than like another productivity dashboard.
I explored soft gradients, organic forms, and an evolving voice visualizer to create a sense of presence throughout the experience.
The aim was to give the product its own personality while keeping the interface simple and functional.
Where we are now
In two weeks, we established a more cohesive visual direction and developed working explorations of the core application, giving the founder a stronger foundation to continue building.
WorkAlive is still in development, and we're continuing to refine the experience as we learn more about how the methodology translates into a digital format.
There's no measurable impact to report yet. For now, the outcome is a working product direction shaped through close collaboration, rapid experimentation, and hands-on design.
The live implementation may differ from the original design explorations as the product continues to evolve.
